New help for saddlesore cyclists

Correct settings are essential for a comfortable ride

Research conducted for Transport for London (TfL) has revealed that 71% cent of cyclists are riding badly-fitting bikes.

With an increasing number of people cycling, TfL is running a workshop to encourage cyclists to ensure their bikes are set for a comfortable ride.

A survey found that having the wrong saddle height is the most common fault.

Only one in five cyclists' saddles were found to be at the correct height, with 43% positioning their seat too low.

Women are twice as likely as men to make this mistake, which can lead to fatigued thigh muscles and sore knees.

The weekend cycle workshop is at Tower Hill.
